Sandeep is one of India’s leading experts on how to effectively build systems and coalitions to drive sustainable ‘impact-at-scale’. He helps individuals and organizations to solve ‘wicked problems’ through his expertise in systems diagnostics. He is a social sector practitioner with demonstrated abilities in system transformation, policy advocacy, building system partnerships, scaling, coalition building, community mobilisation and organisational development in the areas of education, child protection, gender, livelihood and WASH.

He brings close to two decades of experience working with the public systems in not just India, but some other countries as well. His practice aim, towards which he has been continuously putting work, is building a social impact consulting practice to help organisations and individuals eager to actualize change. In doing so, he hopes to build their operational effectiveness and generate better outcomes of their work to create sustainable impact at scale.

To that end, he has gathered substantial experience in leading some of rather impactful education non-profits in India, gaining blended experiences of policy and practice. An expert in organisation building, he has built and led successful multi-stakeholders’ coalitions such as the National Coalition for Education and the Gujarat Education Coalition. He actively engaged with the Global Campaign for Education to advocate the need of quality education for every child. He has also led leadership positions in organisations like Central Square Foundation, STiR Education, Quest Alliance and Azim Premji Foundation. Through his growth mindset, he led STiR Education and drove it to support over 1,50,000 teachers in 5 years from less than 1000 teachers when he started his work. He holds advance postgraduate degrees in Education, Socio-Political Philosophy and Environmental Ethics from premier universities in India, he  then gained post graduate certifications in Education Financing from the Central European University, Budapest and in Social Impact Leadership through an academic collaboration between Dasra and Harvard Business School.

His accomplishments also include his appearance on panels in various National and International Education summit and conferences where he’s addressed the large gathering of global audiences in India and abroad at UNESCO Summit in Bangkok, Internal Education Summit in Bangladesh, India Today Summit, Right to Education conference in Nepal and the AVPN Summit, India. He is also a TEDx speaker and has addressed youths on social problems and motivated them to identify their roles in solving the same.

 

Sandeep lives in India and spends most of his free time reading books and listening to all kinds of music. If you are lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of him putting his Indian Classical Vocal training to use at his leisure. He was born and raised in a remote village of India with no electricity until 1992, no middle school until 2001 and not a single senior secondary school even today. He draws inspiration for his passion from his memories of childhood inequity and has resolved to invest efforts in mitigating similar hardships for as many people as he can.
